The answer is simply yes and yes.'—Dan Hegarty for RTE.ie

'Six new tracks reaffirm the band as a vital political voice': 'U2 sound more righteously angry than they have in years, both in the lyrics, which have a confrontational man-the-barricades tone seldom heard in U2's work since the era of War…and musically: a stew of distorted guitar, growling bass and siren-invoking electronics'—by Alexis Petridis in The Guardian

U2 have returned to the wellspring.
In an age when noise is mistaken for power and spectacle for substance, U2 step forward once more—not with glittering distraction, but with conviction. With the release of Days Of Ash, they have returned to the wellspring. Not nostalgia. Not retreat. A reclamation. These songs feel hewn from the same granite that formed their earliest anthems—where faith wrestled doubt, where justice stood eye to eye with empire, where love refused to kneel. There is muscle here again. Fire. That unmistakable pulse that says music is not décor for history—it is a participant in it. In a world increasingly shadowed by strongmen, censorship, and the drumbeat of endless war, this EP does not whisper. It does not posture. It stands. There is a joyful defiance in these tracks—a refusal to surrender the human spirit to fear. The guitars do not merely shimmer; they testify. The rhythms do not merely drive; they march toward something better. The lyrics refuse the anesthesia of cynicism and instead choose the harder path: hope with teeth. To create art that names authoritarianism and still dares to sing of joy—that is courage. To call out war-mongering while insisting on the dignity of every soul—that is moral clarity. And to do so decades into a career, when silence would be easier—that is integrity. Thank you, U2, for remembering that music can still be a lantern in ash-filled air. Thank you for choosing conscience over comfort. Thank you for reminding us that resistance can dance. In these songs, the cathedral doors are open again. And the echo inside them is not despair— it is defiant, radiant hope.

Unbeschreiblich
Every time you think you’ve heard it all, U2 proves once again just how much raw power their music holds. But it’s about so much more than just the sound: I truly admire this band for their refusal to back down. They say what needs to be said and show real backbone where others stay silent. A band with heart, soul, and the guts to stand their ground!

M.U.S.I.C.: May U2 Stop Irrational Confl
I was 10 when I started listening to and following U2, now I'm 54... I've seen several of their concerts, over 30... the last one in Las Vegas was absurdly grandiose and spectacular (too bad Larry wasn't there!). Every time I hear the new EP I feel anguish... the combination of the documentary and Yours Eternally is devastating for me... I cry and I can't stop crying. If they were to play these songs live, I don't think we should REJOICE and APPLAUD, but remain SILENT... someone once said "Rock & Roll Stop The Traffic"... I hope that M.U.S.I.C. can stop THE WAR. THANK YOU GUYS! Yours Eternally

How to make the abstract human again XOX
In a moment when it would be easier to look away, you chose to look closer — right into the faces of individuals whose stories the world risks forgetting. That is how i received this EP, with quiet, devastating clarity. Songs not written for applause. But stories that need to be heard.

This is U2
These songs bring me back and forward at the same time. I feel again like a young boy with the wiseness of an old man. This is U2. The musical backbone of my life.
